Out of the several programs for alcohol addiction treatment in Pennsylvania, one of the most famous is the 12 Step Program. This program was originally developed by the Alcoholics Anonymous as their main pattern of treatment. But today, the program has become quite popular and has hence been adapted by most treatment centers. The basic outline of the program remains the same, but subtle modifications have been added into the program. As the name suggests, the 12 Step Treatment Program in Pennsylvania includes twelve steps. These are mostly the same throughout the state. The program begins with an intervention phase. This is the phase where the person is made to realize that their alcoholism is a problem and that they need to use certain measures in order to come out of their condition. This is when the person will become ready for the treatment. Once that is done, the person is made to understand that they are not alone in their struggle with alcoholism. There is also a phase where they call out to the divine entity to help them out of their addiction. There is a confession phase where the alcoholic person is made to confess to a human volunteer who can counsel them on how they can make amends for the wrongs they committed due to their addiction. This is the phase that sets them on the right path. When they are trying to make amends for their own mistakes, they get the realization that they need to improve their lives. Today, the 12 Step Program is used very commonly for alcoholism treatment in Pennsylvania. It is one of the most widely accepted methods in the state. |
